Keyboard maestro Dave travels from Port Talbot to bring his latest project to CafeJAZZ. This exciting trio will draw from his many influences which span the entire jazz spectrum from Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea to Horace Silver and Duke Ellington. In addition the trio will perform many of Dave's original compositions including material from his new CD "Impetus". The trio includes Bill Fletcher on bass and Ian Poole on drums. A welcome return to CafejAZZ for this award winning guitarist. A winner of Jazz FMs best instrumentalist award, Lee and his trio will continue to stretch the boundaries of modern and contemporary jazz. They will perform material from his album "Swish" which has been featured in the Observer and on jazz radio in the UK, US and Canada. "Lee has a fully developed style which is unusual for a musician at such an early stage in his career. "Dave Gelly - Observer. ![]() Martin Speake first came to prominence with the saxophone quartet Itchy Fingers and has since recorded several albums with his own quartet and leading British jazz musicians such as John Parricelli, Phil Lee, Steve Arguelles and Mark Lockheart. He has also worked with Sam Rivers, Loose Tubes, Stan Tracey, Airto Moreiro and Flora Purim and many others.
