Conceived from an experimental recording session and drawing from Thelonius Monk, Bill Evans, and Paul Motian, they aim to explore both standards and original material using minimalism and free improvisation. Featuring Evan Clegg (trumpet), Chris Hyson (double bass), Gethin Jones (drums), and Chris Gilligan (piano)

In this continuing series of concerts the emerging talent from Coleg Glan Hafren play a variety of material including covers, jazz and originals. They aim to put their own stamp on this wide range of challenging songs. Students from the Foundation Degree and BTEC Diploma students will perform this evening.

Keyboard maestro Dave travels from Port Talbot to bring his trio to Café Jazz. They draw from his many influences from Herbie Hancock and Horace Silver to Duke Ellington and Joe Zawinul. The trio will also perform material from Dave’s newest CD ‘Impetus’. The trio include Jon Goode on bass and Ian Poole on drums.
