James approaches his music in a distinctive fashion, blending evolving melodic lines with inventive harmonics. He is a guitarist who uses angular Monkish lines and a sound reminiscent of Bill Frisell. He makes standard tunes sound fresh through space and unexpected textures. His 2nd album "Wacahume" displays his own inimitable style and is available through 33 records.
